Proposed Project Timeline

March 2007 Request and receive approval to use NEPA pre-filing process
Spring/Summer 2007 Public participation process continues for pre-filing.
Late Summer 2007 File formal application for Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity.
March 2008 FERC approval is anticipated.
Spring/Summer 2008 Upon receiving all necessary permits, construction activities are expected to begin for Phase I. These activities will include mobilization of personnel and equipment, right-of-way preparation and installation and testing of new pipe.
Mid-2008 Construction activities for Phase II will begin.
December 2008 Construction of Phase I should be completed. Clean up and land restoration will begin after construction is complete and will continue into 2009. Iroquois will also monitor the pipeline right-of-way after construction to ensure land restoration has been successful.
January 2009 Commissioning and startup activities for Phase II are scheduled to be completed. Clean up and restoration will begin after construction is complete and will continue into 2009.
Early-to-Mid 2009 Construction activities for Phase III will begin.
November 2009 Commissioning and startup activities for Phase III are scheduled to be completed. Clean up and restoration will begin after construction is complete and will continue into 2010.

Phase I - In-Service Date of November 1, 2008
  • 5.8 miles of 36-inch pipeline in Boonville, NY
  • 1.6 miles of 36-inch pipeline in Newtown, CT
  • 1.0 mile of 36-inch pipeline in Wright, NY
Phase II - In-Service Date of January 1, 2009 Phase III - In-Service Date of November 1, 2009
  • Construction of a second 10,300 horsepower compressor unit (with cooling) at Brookfield Compressor Station in Brookfield, CT.

Iroquois Gas hosts a series of Emergency Management Presentations for all emergency responders who serve our pipeline communities. These meetings expand current responder training or refresh knowledge gained from earlier meetings.
